Construction Overview

1. Layout & Forms

We will layout your pool with marking paint, install stakes and edge forms.  The forms will be approximately 9” wider from the desired finish edge on each side of the pool.  Your presence is required at this stage because you will approve the layout prior to forms being set.  Electricity is required.

2. Excavation

We will dig the hole for your pool and install lime rock and a sump pump in the deep end.  The first payment is due at this time.

3. Steel

We will install the main drain plumbing and light niches.  Water is required to fill the drain pipes.  Reinforcing steel will be installed and the electrical ground wires are connected to the lights and steel.  Building Department inspection is scheduled at this time.

4. Shotcrete

The concrete shell of your pool is pneumatically applied at this time.  Water is required.  The second payment is due at this time.

5. Plumbing

We will install the entire plumbing and electrical conduit at this time.  The plumbing will be run to the equipment location.  Water and electricity are required.  The plumbing will b e tied together at the equipment locations and pressure tested.  The equipment will be installed.

6. Grading

We will grade the pool deck area and backfill the plumbing trenches.  If you are planning to add more decking than on the contract you will need to discuss it at this time.

7. Tile and Coping

We will install your tile and any waterfalls at this time.  If coping bricks/blocks are used they will be installed at this time.  You may need to be present at the start of tile if your tile colors vary, to discus placement.  Water and electricity are required.

8. Electric

The electrician will run conduit and wire from your panel to the equipment location.  You may need to be present as access to your inside panel is necessary.

9. Decking

We will layout your deck and begin form work.  You will need to be present to confirm layout and elevations.  If the pool deck is being used for the “coping”, foam forms will be installed.  Deck drains are installed and the expansion joints are laid out.  Concrete will be placed and finished at this time.

10. Acrylic Topping

The texture will be installed on the deck and then the color coats are installed.

11. Plaster

The interior plaster finish is installed at this time and we begin to fill your pool with water after acid washing the plaster.  Water must be available for filling pool in order to properly cure the plaster.  The final payment is due at this time.

12. Final Clean Up

We will clean the tile, coping and decking surfaces at this time and pick up any remaining trash.

13. Start Up

When your pool is full of water we will start the equipment and give you instructions on operating your equipment, cleaning your new pool, and testing the water.

14. Landscaping & Restoration

You can begin landscaping and landscaping repairs.  Most of this can be done once the deck is poured.

This Construction Overview is typical.  Variations may take place due to the individual uniqueness of every job.  Some phases could be partially complete because they depend on another phase to complete.  All payments are due at the commencement of each of the phases stated.
